Ownership of a SIGNL4 subscription is basically designated to all Administrators of that subscription. The user who signs up for SIGNL4 and creates the subscription is created as an Administrator.
There is various situations in which you may want or need to transfer ownership.
Situation 1 - Multiple SIGNL4 administrators exist, one can still login
Perform these steps to "transfer" ownership:
- Login to SIGNL4 as one of the administrators
- Click "Users" in the menu
- Identify the old owner/administrator you want to remove ownership from
- Delete this user
- In the menu, navigate to "Billing"
- Under "Billing Info" click edit and make sure to replace the email address of the old owner/administrator with your email address (new SIGNL administrator/owner)
Situation 2 - Access to old owner account/mailbox is still available or can be acquired
If the old SIGNL4 administrator is still available and can login to SIGNL4, log in with this account and perform steps 8 to 13 below.
Otherwise, if your organization is NOT using SIGNL4 with a 3rd party identity provider (e.g. Microsoft Azure Active Directory) but has created dedicated SIGNL4 accounts, you may be able to gain access to the mailbox of the old SIGNL4 administrator who has e.g. left the company.
In this case perform all these steps:
- Open http://account.signl4.com/manage/
- Enter the email address of the person who is currently the owner of SIGNL4
- Click on forgot password link
- Check the mailbox of the SIGNL4 administrator who left your organization
- Note the new password SIGNL4 generated
- Open http://account.signl4.com/manage/
- Login with the email address of the person who is currently the owner of SIGNL4 and use the password sent to that mailbox
- In the "Users" menu item identify another user in SIGNL4 who should become the new owner (administrator) of SIGNL4 (e.g. you)
- Change his role to Administrator using the toggle in the details of that user and save your changes
- Log in as that new administrator
- Delete the old administrator user account in the Users menu
- In the menu, navigate to "Billing"
- Under "Billing Info" click edit and make sure to replace the email address of the old SIGNL4 administrator with your email address (new SIGNL administrator)
Situation 3 - SIGNL4 administrator account is lost and cannot be acquired
If the old SIGNL4 administrator is no longer available in your organization and his mailbox cannot be accessed or your organization is using a 3rd party accounts with SIGNL4 (e.g. Microsoft Azure Active Directory), perform these steps:
- Compose an email with the following information:
- Email address of the old SIGNL4 owner/administrator
- Email address of the desired new SIGNL4 owner/administrator (must be an existing member of the SIGNL4 subscription)
- Address the email to these email addresses in the To field:
- Email address of the old SIGNL4 owner/administrator
- Email address of a 3rd person from the SIGNL4 subscription (if available)
- info@signl4.com
- We'll then require a confirmation from the other people that you have included in the To field
- If confirmation was received, we will transfer ownership to the new SIGNL4 owner/administrator after a minimum grace period of 24 hours
- Once this is complete, log on as new SIGNL4 owner/administrator in the web portal
- In the menu, navigate to "Billing"
- Under "Billing Info" click edit and make sure to replace the email address of the old SIGNL4 administrator with your email address (new SIGNL administrator)
